Terms of Service

Effective Date: March 19, 2026

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of SonicMeet's browser extension, website, and related services (collectively, the "Services"), provided by SonicMeet ("SonicMeet," "we," "us," or "our").

By accessing or using the Services, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Services.

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old, or the age of majority in your jurisdiction, to use the Services, or you must have permission from a parent or legal guardian.

You represent that you have the authority to enter into these Terms and to use the Services in compliance with applicable law.

If you use SonicMeet on behalf of an organisation, you represent that you have authority to bind that organisation to these Terms.

2. The Services

SonicMeet provides real-time captioning, transcription, translation, note-taking, session history, and related productivity features for supported platforms and websites.

SonicMeet does not host or control the underlying content (videos, streams, meetings, etc.) and is not responsible for their availability, legality, or accuracy.

Features may change over time. We may add, modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Services at any time.

3. Accounts

You may need to create an account to access some features.

You agree to:

  • provide accurate and complete information;
  • keep your login credentials secure;
  • promptly update account information if it changes;
  • accept responsibility for activity that occurs under your account.

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, are involved in abuse, fraud, or security risks, or create risk for the Services or other users.

4. Subscription, Billing, and Usage Limits

Some features may require a paid subscription, credits, usage-based purchases, or other fees.

SonicMeet currently offers:

  • A free tier with a limited one-time quota of caption time so you can try the product
  • Paid subscription plans with higher monthly limits

We measure usage in caption minutes (the amount of audio you process using SonicMeet). For example, watching a 30-minute video with captions on uses about 30 minutes; a 1-hour meeting uses about 60 minutes.

By purchasing a paid plan, you authorize us or our payment processors to charge the applicable fees, taxes, and recurring charges as described at the time of purchase.

Unless otherwise stated:

  • subscriptions renew automatically until canceled;
  • fees are non-refundable except as required by law or expressly stated otherwise;
  • plan limits, usage quotas, and feature access may vary by plan;
  • we may change pricing or plan features with reasonable notice.

You are responsible for reviewing plan details before purchasing.

Cancellation

You can cancel future renewals at any time via the billing portal link or by contacting support at [email protected].

When you cancel, your plan remains active until the end of the current billing period. We generally do not offer refunds for partially used periods, except where required by law or at our discretion.

If we ever close SonicMeet entirely or make major changes that significantly reduce its core functionality, we will aim to provide reasonable notice and, where appropriate, a fair approach for existing subscribers.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to use the Services to:

  • violate any applicable law or regulation;
  • infringe or misappropriate the rights of others;
  • upload, transmit, or process unlawful, abusive, harassing, defamatory, fraudulent, or otherwise harmful content;
  • interfere with or disrupt the operation, security, or integrity of the Services;
  • attempt to gain unauthorized access to systems, accounts, or data;
  • reverse engineer, copy, resell, scrape, or exploit the Services except as permitted by law;
  • use the Services in a manner that violates the terms or policies of third-party platforms you access;
  • circumvent usage limits, quotas, or security measures;
  • share one personal account across unrelated groups in a way that bypasses our pricing;
  • use the Services to develop or support competing services in a way that violates applicable law or our rights.

You are responsible for your use of transcripts, translations, notes, and any content generated, displayed, saved, or exported through the Services.

6. User Content

You may submit, create, save, or process content through the Services, including transcripts, notes, translations, and related materials ("User Content").

You retain your rights in your User Content. However, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive, worldwide license to host, store, reproduce, process, transmit, and display User Content as necessary to operate, provide, maintain, improve, secure, and support the Services.

You represent that you have all rights and permissions necessary for your User Content and your use of the Services.

7. Consent and Compliance Responsibilities

You are responsible for determining whether you have provided any notice or obtained any consent that may be required under applicable law or workplace, educational, or organizational policy in connection with recording, transcription, captioning, translation, or storage of meeting-related content.

SonicMeet does not provide legal advice, and you are solely responsible for your compliance obligations when using the Services.

8. AI and Accuracy Disclaimer

The Services may use automated systems, speech recognition, translation models, and other AI-based technologies.

As a result:

  • transcripts, translations, summaries, notes, and related outputs may contain errors, omissions, delays, or inaccuracies;
  • outputs may not reflect exact wording or intended meaning;
  • the Services are provided for convenience and productivity purposes and should not be relied upon as the sole basis for legal, medical, financial, compliance, or other high-stakes decisions.

You are responsible for reviewing and verifying outputs before relying on them.

9. Third-Party Platforms and Services

The Services may interact with third-party websites, communication platforms, browser environments, or service providers. Your use of those third-party services is governed by their own terms and policies.

SonicMeet is not responsible for third-party products or services and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Google Meet, Zoom, Microsoft Teams, or other third-party platforms unless explicitly stated.

10. Intellectual Property

The Services, including our software, designs, branding, text, graphics, interfaces, and related materials, are owned by SonicMeet or its licensors and are protected by intellectual property laws.

You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, revocable licence to use SonicMeet for your personal or internal business use, in accordance with these Terms. You do not gain ownership of SonicMeet by using it or by subscribing.

11. Feedback

If you provide feedback, suggestions, or ideas regarding the Services, you grant us the right to use them without restriction or compensation to you.

12. Suspension and Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Services at any time, with or without notice, if:

  • you violate these Terms;
  • your use creates legal, security, or operational risk;
  • we are required to do so by law;
  • we discontinue the Services.

You may stop using the Services at any time. If applicable, you may cancel your subscription in accordance with the billing terms presented at purchase.

Sections that by their nature should survive termination will survive, including provisions relating to payments due, intellectual property, disclaimers, limitations of liability, indemnity, and dispute resolution.

13. Disclaimers

We work hard to make SonicMeet helpful and reliable, but:

THE SERVICES ARE PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE."

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES, WHETHER EXPRESS, IMPLIED, STATUTORY, OR OTHERWISE, INCLUDING IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, NON-INFRINGEMENT, AND ANY WARRANTIES ARISING OUT OF COURSE OF DEALING OR USAGE OF TRADE.

We do not guarantee that the Services will be uninterrupted, secure, error-free, or fully accurate, or that any content will be preserved without loss.

14. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, SONICMEET, ITS AFFILIATES, OFFICERS, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, CONTRACTORS, AGENTS, LICENSORS, AND SERVICE PROVIDERS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, REVENUE, DATA, GOODWILL, OR BUSINESS OPPORTUNITY, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF OR INABILITY TO USE THE SERVICES.

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ALL CLAIMS ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO THE SERVICES WILL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US FOR THE SERVICES IN THE 3 MONTHS IMMEDIATELY PRECEDING THE EVENT GIVING RISE TO THE CLAIM.

Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so some of the above may not apply to you. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

15. Indemnification

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless SonicMeet and its affiliates, officers, directors, employees, contractors, agents, licensors, and service providers from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses, including reasonable attorneys' fees, arising out of or related to:

  • your use of the Services;
  • your User Content;
  • your violation of these Terms;
  • your violation of any law or the rights of a third party.

16. Governing Law and Disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States, and, where applicable, the laws of the U.S. state in which our company is registered, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.

If you are a consumer in a region with mandatory local protections, you may also benefit from certain non-waivable rights under your local law.

17. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the effective date, post the updated Terms, and where appropriate, provide additional notice (e.g. in-app message or email).

By continuing to use the Services after the updated Terms become effective, you agree to the revised Terms.
