Join your team's SonicMeet plan
You were invited to a team. Here's how to accept, and what changes once you're on the team's plan.
Accept the invitation
When someone invites you, SonicMeet sends you an email. If you already use SonicMeet with that address, the email says you've been added to the team, and there's nothing else to do.
New to SonicMeet? You get an invitation email instead. Then three steps:
- 1Install SonicMeet
The browser extension from the download page, or the desktop app if you join meetings in the Zoom or Microsoft Teams app.
- 2Sign in with the invited email address
Use the Google account the invitation was sent to. A different account won't pick up the invitation.
- 3Start captions once
Starting your first session accepts the invitation. That first session still counts against your own free minutes; from your next session on, SonicMeet uses the team's hours.
What changes on a team plan
- Your sessions, summaries and Ask AI answers use the team's shared hours and AI credits. Your own minutes are kept aside, unused, while you're on the team.
- The popup shows Team Plan, and there's no upgrade button: the team's owner and admins manage the plan.
- Your team's shared vocabulary applies to your sessions automatically.
- Only owners and admins can open the Team Dashboard. As a member you don't need it.
When captions stop for the whole team
- The team has used all its minutes: ask your team's owner or admin to add hours.
- The team's subscription is past due: live captions are paused until the owner updates the payment method.
If you also pay for a personal plan
Joining a team doesn't cancel it: your personal subscription keeps billing until you cancel it yourself. In the extension popup, open your account menu and choose Manage Subscription.
Invited as an admin?
Accept the invitation first (sign in and start captions once), then sign in at sonicmeet.app/team with the same email address. If you open the dashboard before accepting, it offers to create a new team instead: don't, start a session in SonicMeet first.
Common questions
I signed in, but I'm not on the team yet. Why?
The invitation is accepted when you start your first caption session, not when you sign in. Start captions once, and check that you signed in with the exact email address the invitation was sent to.
Why did my first session use my own minutes?
The invitation is accepted while that first session starts, so it still runs on your own balance. Every session after that uses the team's hours.
How do I leave the team?
Ask your team's owner or an admin. They can remove you on the Team Dashboard's Members page.
